How To Use Google Adsense to Generate Income
Work at Home Answers
Content sites are the perfect vehicle for Google adsense advertisements. As I mentioned way back on the home
page, Google loves quality content sites because they give Google customers what they are looking for, which is
information. Google uses adsense to place targeted advertisements for their customers on content rich web pages.

The idea being that visitors come to your site for information on your topic - lets use fishing as an example. Google
bots scan your page and pick out the keywords which give them information about the content of your page. They
then match that content to the keywords their advertisers supply with their ads. For example, if your page was about
fishing rods, Google would match advertisements from fishing rod suppliers in the local area of your visitor (their
bots know this information too).
Your visitor reads your information about selecting
rods and decides he needs a new one. He sees
some advertisements on your page for fishing rod
suppliers, and clicks on the link to get an idea of
price and brands available.

Hey presto you earn some money from that click.
Google earns some money from that link, and the
advertiser get s customer to their website who is
looking for what they supply - quality fishing rods.

So that in a nutshell is how Google adsense
makes you money.
To place these Google ads on your site, you need to be an adsense member. First you need a Google account
(easy and free). I suggest you start one today if you havent already.

Next you need to apply for their adsense program. For this you need a website that they approve of. This is why I
recommend you put up your 20 - 30 pages of content first. Once you have your adsense account you can place
Goodle adsense on any sites and pages you own.

Be warned however, Google does monitor all its adsense placements and has strict rules about what content is
permitted. It is very important that you read all the Google adsense rules before you place any advertising on a
page as poor choices may get you banned from an important income stream. Google's documentation is easy to
read and understand, and easily accessible by everyone, so I wont go into detail here, I just want to emphasise
how important it is that you follow all of Googles rules - especially the ones that relate to clicking your own ads.
Please read and understand their rules - that is your homework (smiles).
Once Google accepts you as an adsense member you can access
your adsense management pages any time you want. You can add
sites to your account, and you can make banners and customise
them to fit with your page theme. Their banner builder pages are very
easy to follow and use.

Once you have decided on the shape, colour scheme and format of
your advertisement panel, Google will generate a little bit of code
which you insert into your web page where you want the advertising
panel to go.

Placing your advertisement on your page is very dependent on your
layout aesthetics. You want it close to the top so its easy for visitors to
see and find, but sometimes it is better to integrate a box into the text
which relates the product and your content. Its up to you.

My suggestion is make it subtle, you don't want your site to look like a
sales pitch, but make it visible too, you don't want your visitors to miss
it amongst the pictures and content. Google does not permit you to
direct your visitors to click on your ad panel, and more subtle
mentions of the ad panel might be misconstrued by Google, so its
best to avoid those methods and concentrate on good placement.
For those of you with little or no knowledge this
can be a bit of a challenge at first. If you use
CoffeeCup Visual Designer, all you do is place an
html box on your page and paste the code into it.
Easy.

If you use another site designer package you
might have to contact the supplier for information
on how to place the code. If you use a free
hosting site with web builder they will usually have
some help files that tell you how to do it.

Webs.com make it fairly easy - all you do is edit
the sidebar and place the code in there. They
have good help files to explain this process, but it
is pretty intuitive. I got it right first attempt, so it
cant be hard.
Once Google accepts you, you can
place ads on your site and earn from
those clicks
